The Market Quarter is a short, atmospheric alleyway located just above the Strule River, between the old and new bridges in the center of Omagh. Once bustling with commercial activity, today it’s quieter, but still retains its character. Two bars and several services, including a hairdresser and a tanning salon, are located here, and some of the former establishments remain closed, giving the place a distinctive, slightly nostalgic feel.
The alleyway serves as a convenient passageway leading to the bus station, and its riverside location makes it a pleasant, albeit short, stroll through the town center. The Market Quarter is a small but recognizable feature of Omagh – a place that blends the past with everyday life and retains its local charm.
